Shitty Morning

Update: The day got much better after this venting and a nap, then some music and time with Emily and a wonderful chat with my Littleone! The day actually ended pretty well...now since I kinda lost a day, we'll see how well I do at getting everything done tomorrow. Read if you choose.


So because I'm still fuming, and I want the remainder of my day to be somewhat better, I'm going to vent on this...please stop reading if you don't want to listen to me bitch!

If it could have gone wrong this morning, it kinda did! I started out the morning good, got to sleep in, take a shower, get ready and headed to work. At work is where everything turned f'n upside down! I plugged my laptop in to the Internet connection only to find that I cannot connect to the outside world. This has happened once before, I can connect to the network, I get an IP address, I can even ping things, but I cannot get Internet or any form of contact outside my computer really! This I could probably work around, IF! my computer for work actually did what I wanted it to! My computer at work is a f'n Linux box that is supposed to be as good as a mac and never have any problems...well let me tell you, I've had less problems with my 3 PC systems in 7 years than I've had in a year and a half with the stupid Linux system! Not winning me over! I will stick to my Window's machine! One of the main things is that the Internet doesn't work on it..Yes, everyone things FireFox is the best thing since sliced bread, yea I'd rather throw a knife at the computer screen than use FireFox! FireFox on my machine (no it doesn't happen to others, but no one can fix it!) makes the computer run really hard and then it will quit! I cannot send, check e-mails or check anything else out, research related or not! Yes, I know you are saying "Jerilyn, this all seems a bit petty", poor her she can't check her e-mail.....but it's the fact that it will come up, I will check e-mail and I will have time invested into writing an e-mail and I loose the whole thing! I just couldn't deal with it! After it quitting on me 3 times in 10 minutes, I'd had it! To top it off, there was user error that didn't help the day...yes I'm mad at myself about this one. I'm running a computer model and I ran it, taking up all the available processors for the group over night in hopes that it would finish this morning and I wouldn't be inconveniencing anyone. Yea that worked to a point. It did run and finish by morning, but I had not changed something, so the run was invalid, thus requiring me to restart it and take up the groups resources for the next 15 hours...sorry to my group members and thanks! Then because I was so irritated, just about everything else was bothering me...you name it, it probably annoyed me. So basically, all of these things happening at once just got to me, and I had to leave work. I'm now at home...cooling off and getting ready to start working again, with a computer that works. So the combo of me being stupid and the computer not working was just to much for me! I'm out....hopefully to have a better afternoon!
